Hillsborough Community College (HCC) was founded in 1968, and is a two-year, community college serving over 40,000 students. Hillsborough Community College is unique in that it provide as university-like community for its students.
It is among the first community colleges to have an on-campus residence. The recently completed Honors Institute also strives to foster a sense of academic community on campus. Students are required to submit applications to both Hillsborough Community College and the nursing program (upon completion of prerequisites). Admission requirements include submitting an application, background check, negative drug exam, and transcripts for all previous coursework.
